Akron Area Automobile Dealers’
Association Becomes Northeast Ohio Automobile Dealers’ Association
AKRON, OHIO – Jan. 7, 2010 – After 82 years, the Akron Area Automobile Dealers’ Association has officially changed its name to the Northeast Ohio Automobile Dealers Association (NEOADA).
“The name change signifies growth and a new beginning,” said
Terry Metcalf, executive vice president, NEOADA. “We’re no longer an
association limited to representing dealers in one city or county. Given that
the dealerships we work with are located in multiple counties throughout
northeast Ohio, the name “Akron Area” is simply no longer accurate. In fact,
dealers across a much larger geographic area are now using many of our programs and
finding them to be of significant value to their operations.”
Not only does NEOADA offer memberships to new franchised
automobile dealers, it has now created an associate membership for used car
dealers. Other dealers, considered affiliate members, take advantage of one or more of NEOADA’s services.
Over the last few years, NEOADA has added numerous programs
and services in order to better serve its members. These services include the
unique Autoview report, a shredding program, background checks, fingerprinting,
passport photos, an energy cost savings program, credit card processing and
many others.
In addition, NEOADA continues to offer many other vital
services such as a full service license bureau, runners and title services.
“We’ve worked hard over the last few years to build and
expand our services for our members,” Metcalf said. “We’re excited for the
opportunities this name change brings. It really opens up the association to a
much wider audience and enables us to continue to grow the number of services
we offer our dealers.”

The Northeast Ohio Automobile Dealers’ Association began in 1927 as the Akron Automobile Dealers Association. It was established in order to advance and protect the interest of automobile dealers, the buying public and the automotive trade in the greater Akron area. Today, the sixty member organization expands through Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, and Wayne counties, with additional dealers from seven other northeast Ohio counties utilizing NEOADA programs and services. NEOADA members currently enjoy more than 20 programs and services that help them run their dealerships.
